G8 summit in Italy, that brings back memories from JULY 2001 when protests turned violent, thousands of people marched the streets and one person was shot dead.This year however didn't bring any of such violence nor there were protests on a large scales. Probably as carabinieri and activists didn't want any nasty surprises to happen.
Yes, there were few protests such as the one on Piazza Barberini organized by Trade Unionists on Wednesday 8th July.
Another protest on the same day took place near the prison where few activists were held after being arrested for taking part in a protest the night before. However, this protest was merely a protest but rather a youth's and local gypsies' gathering.
